Meeting
starting at 8:38
Our trip to Watsons last Sunday went really well, we played a lot of
duck duck goose and did a variety of different activities with the kids.
We are wanting to be more and more involved with Watsons because it is
always so enjoyable for us and the children. And also a reminder with
Watsons, they are opening the new home in the end of April so we will be
looking so a lot of volunteers who are willing to help. If you have a
truck that would be great!
With our small fundraiser on campus we are considering putting that on
hold because the equipment rentals are hard to get a hold of and they
are also expensive and out of our budget range for right now. Although
we are trying to see if we can work something out so that it will be
worth our time and efforts and we will still be able to pull a profit.
We have a scheduled time on April 13th from 11-4 outside of the UC. We
will be advertising it as sort of a "Battle of the Bands" type thing and
basically it is just for amateur bands to get out there for fun and be
heard. Again the winner will have the opportunity to open for our spring
benefit concert the end of April at the Top Hat. It would be a lot of
fun if we could get it all together, and if we can we will be working on
flyers etc.right after spring break. It would also just be great for us
to advertise our concert here.
Moving on, right after spring break a few of us will be attending a
lunch/breakfast with the different Rotaract clubs in Missoula. I think
we almost have enough people but if you are really interested in coming
let Nic know. We will basically just be going to introduce ourselves and
explain what we have been doing and where we intend to go with our
club. We will also be handing out our sponsorship forms there in case
anyone is interested in donating to help our benefit concert get kicked
off.
***We got our three bands locked down for the concert. We will be
opening with Kung Fu Congress, then have Zeppo, and finish with Wartime
Blues. It should be a really great show and we are all really excited
about it.
Everyone remember that it is really important that we work on getting
sponsors as well as raffle prize donations. So far we have done really
well on getting raffle prizes but our main focus is monetary donations!
Over spring break if you can remember and try to go around and give our
forms out to any business that you can think of. Kettle house donated a
few cases of Cold smoke beer which we will be selling at the concert for
a dollar to the first people who come and want them. We are also
looking into trying to get a Vodka/Red bull sponsor.
Someone just brought trying to figure out how to sell tickets online. We
will be looking into that because it would be convenient and hopefully
bring in more people.
We just mapped out the flyers that we will be printing after spring
break and figured out some of the details that will be going on the
flyers. I will be posting something up on face book with all of the
details so if anyone is interested with playing around with some
different flyer ideas that would be great!! Everyone have a great Spring
Break!
